If we met Mesut Özil, we probably wouldn't know what to say to him.

The German playmaker is an enigmatic type, a mercurial man of many talents - as such, we think he'd be a pretty intimidating guy to meet. He's just got that uncanny aura. The aura of a man who loves to provide not the obvious goal, but the stealthy assist.

He's a bit of a mystery, basically.

Still, that hasn't stopped one Arsenal fan from taking a rather blunt approach to addressing the midfielder. Speaking at a Q&A at the club's annual Members' Day, the supporter came at Mesut with a straightforward question - how would he compare former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to Alexis Sanchez?

Nervous laughter peals out. Özil pauses. He then produces a very philosophical answer.

Mesut thinks very carefully...
First, he says: "They are two different players". This is undeniable - and definitely true.

He continues: "Ronaldo is a player who scores a lot of goals and Alexis is a player that plays for the team. You see that in the game, he runs a lot for the team, fights for the team.

"I just enjoy playing with these players, they are both great players for me".

A bit of fence-sitting at the end there, but his essential point is an interesting one - Cristiano is a brilliant individual, while Alexis helps to make a brilliant team.

An interesting answer from an interesting man.

Wise words, Mesut. Very wise words.
