One non-league footballer really, really wants Arsenal to sign Karim Benzema
Arsenal fans want Benzema and they're not afraid to tweet about it
Though the opening day of the Premier League season can often be misleading, it's preferable that your side don't lose 2-0 at home to West Ham. An immediate collapse of that sort suggests the squad might need some new additions.
Consequently, a lot of Arsenal fans are now desperate for Arsène Wenger to sign someone. But one fan is more desperate than most.
Eamon Payne, a footballer with non-league Witham Town, clearly feels invested in the Gunners' fortunes. He'd also really, really like the Gunners to invest - by buying Karim Benzema.
Eamon hasn't been afraid to tell the club how he feels about this. Repeatedly.
We don't know whether the Arsenal board will listen to you, Eamon. But we hear you. We hear you loud and clear.
In many ways, Eamon is every Arsenal fan right now - quite angry and only able to find some solace in tweeting about it. Well, we hope this deluge of tweets makes a difference. And if it doesn't, keep on tweeting the club.
They'll have to buy Benzema eventually. We imagine.
