Former Manchester City star had injured Joshua Kimmich in a tackle
Their meeting might have been billed as a friendly but Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola was far from cordial in his side's win over with AC Milan, as he started a heated tunnel row with opposition captain Nigel de Jong.
Guardiola waited for the former Manchester City midfielder as the teams headed for the dressing rooms at half-time at the Allianz Arena before launching into a furious rage.
The Bayern coach, 44, was angered following a robust tackle from the Holland international which forced injured Germany Under 21 ace Joshua Kimmich off after 20 minutes of the Audi Cup pre-season clash in Munich.
De Jong is notorious for his combative style - including his infamous studs-up chest challenge on Spain's Xabi Alonso in the 2010 World Cup Final - and the former Barcelona boss was far from happy with his latest act of foul play.
As De Jong headed for the visitors' changing area, Guardiola verbally laid into the Dutch ace who then had to be held back by his Milan colleagues to prevent the row from escalating further.
Guardiola, who appeared to be backing off, then returned to deliver some more terse words for the Serie A star.
Within minutes the clip was splashed across social media sites as viewers debated the moment that Guardiola clearly lost his temper in the tunnel.
After the game, Guardiola said: ‘I told De Jong that I was sad for Joshua. He won't be able to play in the final (against Real Madrid) and perhaps he'll be out even longer than that.
'He certainly will become one of the best German players in the next 10 years.'
Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic added: 'Football isn't dancing and fouls are part of the sport. This is also why games like this cannot be called friendlies.'
