Live Norway  Croatia qualifying for Euro 2016

Wales took an almighty step towards a place at Euro 2016 courtesy of Gareth Bale's late winner in Cyprus, and they can confirm their spot in France with victory over Israel on Sunday.

Chris Coleman's side will qualify if they repeat their victory in the reverse fixture and, with huge momentum following them to Cardiff courtesy of Bale's header, they look a good bet at around even-money to do so.

A clash with Israel does represent a marginal step up in grade from Cyprus but Wales have beaten Belgium at home and held Bosnia-Herzegovina to a 0-0 draw, so this is a game they should and will approach with some confidence.

There's a chance Thursday's trip has taken a lot out of them, if not physically then perhaps emotionally, but the very fact that they're 90 minutes from achieving their goal should mean that nothing short of full intensity is in evidence from kick-off.

Israel enjoyed a bloodless 4-0 victory over Andorra on home soil but were beaten 3-1 in Bosnia before that and while Eitan Tibi's sending off in the earlier 3-0 defeat to Wales, goals from Aaron Ramsey and Bale already had Wales well on their way.

Indeed, the overriding memory from that game - one Coleman had described as Wales's most important in a decade - is how controlled they were. Even in the cauldron that is Haifa's Sammy Ofer Stadium, the visitors were able to dictate the tempo of the game, nullify the attacking threat of the hosts and capitalise on the fact that they have two outstanding talents which their opponents do not.

What's more, they're now providing the platform on which Ramsey and Bale can flourish courtesy of a brilliant defence, organised by the excellent Ashley Williams. Wales have now gone 414 minutes without conceding in qualifying and no side in any group has produced more clean sheets.

Coleman will doubtless be reminding his side of that performance in Israel, their standout effort in a near exemplary campaign to date, and a repeat of it would see them maintain their advantage at the top of Group B and possibly even extend it, with Belgium now tasked with a trip to Cyprus.

Elsewhere on the coupon, Norway look a decent price to beat Croatia in Group H.

The pressure is on the visitors after they produced a thoroughly unprofessional performance against Azerbaijan on Thursday, their part-time hosts producing as many shots on target despite having ceded possession.

Mario Mandzukic showed a baffling lack of effort at times, his cause not aided by poor service, while recent Real Madrid signing Mateo Kovacic picked up a needless yellow card which means he's suspended for this game.

Croatia remain top of the standings for now, although the situation is complicated by a pending one-point deduction following their 1-1 draw with Italy earlier in the campaign.

Italy's narrow win over Malta saw them move level on points with Croatia as things stand, while Norway were able to overcome Bulgaria away from home to move within two and set up a fascinating conclusion whatever the result of their appeal.

It may well be that this group produces the best third-placed team who therefore would qualify automatically for next summer's finals, but it would be foolish for any of these three sides to consider that a safety net and this game has taken on a new level of significance.

Norway were full value for their victory in Bulgaria, missing a couple of chances late in the day, and that's now three consecutive clean sheets since they lost the reverse fixture 5-1 to what was on the night a ruthless Croatian outfit - those five goals came from seven shots on target.

That match has to be taken into account, but it helps nudge the hosts out towards the 3/1 mark and on the most recent and arguably most relevant evidence, they are capable of edging past a side who have much to prove.
