David Beckham scores People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2015
David Beckham scored big time Tuesday when he became the first athlete to be named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive.
Beckham, 40, has modeled for Calvin Klein and H&M since retiring from professional soccer in 2013 and was introduced as 2015's honoree during Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“It’s the best moment of my career,” Beckham said half-jokingly. “I can’t believe it.”
Beckham joins the late John F. Kennedy Jr. (1988) and singer Adam Levine (2013) as the only non-actors to be honored as Sexiest Man Alive.
“I would honestly like to thank my parents for bringing me into this world,” Beckham said of the honor, though he couldn't resist a joking addition. “I want to thank my hairdresser, my stylist …”
