Sweden vs Denmark betting tips and predictions

14 Nov 2015

Here we have a betting preview for when Sweden welcome Denmark to the Friends Arena, on Saturday the 14th of November, in the first of two legs which will determine which nation will compete at the 2016 European Championships. The game kicks off at 19:45.

Our Sweden vs Denmark match preview

Sweden come into this game of the back of two victories, which wasn’t enough to secure them a top two place in their group. They now have to play two more games to secure their place in next year’s tournament. Although they did not secure the automatic qualification they can take confidence after winning their last two games. A player that will play a huge part in the next two games if they are to make it is Captain and all-time leading goal scorer for the country Zlatan Ibrahimovic Zlatan Ibrahimovic. His ability and presence over these two games will be key, if he doesn’t turn up and play well, Sweden will struggle to overcome their opponents this weekend that is how important he is to his nation. Another player that needs to be on form over the two legs is central midfielder Sebastian Larsson. When he plays with his national team he is key through his creativity to beat players, and feed it into the men in front of his who will cause the damage.

Denmark are coming into this match not being on the winning side in four games. This consisting of two draws and two losses.

This will not fill them with confidence. However, this game is very important for both nations, it is the only two games that matter this season for the teams, as it is what will give them the right to take part in the European Finals next year.

Denmark have great quality within their squad from Kasper Schmeichel between the sticks, to Christian Eriksen being the creative player he is for his nation.

Christian Eriksen is a great threat for his team with his free kick ability to his ability. If Denmark are to stand any chance in the first leg away from home they will need to make sure they get Eriksen on the ball, as much as they possibly can as he is the one that will both create, and score chances for his national team.

Centre back Daniel Agger will also be important with his presence and ability to keep the Swedish striker Ibrahimovic away from scoring.

The latest team news

Sweden will be without three players for this game with Pierre Bengtsson out with a suspension, Pontus Wernbloom suffering with an ankle injury and Oscar Lewicki out with a head injury.

Denmark will go into this game full of confidence as they are going with a fully fit squad which will give them a huge boost.

The betting preview and tips

With Sweden being the home team they will be the favourites for this encounter as they will be in front of their own fans who will want the win.

If Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on form it will be hard for the Denmark team to stop him.

Denmark will want to make the two legs easier for themselves by getting some kind of result in this game, so they will battle for the win from first minute, to last.

Our football betting tip is that it will be a draw.
