Tips: Klopp has reportedly been in touch with the Gladbach boss

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been in touch with Borussia Monchengladbach manager Andre Schubert ahead the Bundesliga side's trip to Manchester City this evening.

German paper Bild say the pair have spoken by text message and over the phone ahead of the clash at the Etihad, which pits second against third in Champions League Group D.

City are already assured of their place in the last 16, sitting on a four-point cushion ahead of the German outfit, but could potentially leapfrog Juventus into first place with victory tonight.

The Old Lady take on Sevilla in the other game, with the La Liga side still in with a shout of a Europa League spot should they topple Juve, and City do the job against Gladbach.

Klopp oversaw Liverpool's sensational 4-1 win at the Etihad last month, so knows what it takes to get the better of Manuel Pellegrini's side.

City have made the last 16 in each of the two seasons, crashing out to Barcelona on both occasions.

They will be hoping to overtake Juventus for a more favourable tie in the knockout stages this time around.
